Hockessin PR firm sends ‘love and supplies’ to Louisiana Elementary School teachers

The recent historic flooding in southern Louisiana closed numerous schools, interrupted the start of the school year for tens of thousands of children, and displaced thousands of teachers.

It also inspired our team of professional communicators to play a part in helping lessen the devastation on students returning to school and those eager to get back to teaching, according to a press release.

“Teachers are among our favorite people in the whole world. We had to do something,” said Bridget Paverd, partner. “Outside of parents, teachers are the most important people in our children’s lives and their classrooms are sanctuaries for learning. The decision to collect supplies to help elementary school teachers was unanimous in our firm.”

To help those educators that are able to make their way back into school classrooms, GillespieHall has collected over $500 of essential teacher supplies for the Tangipahoa Parish public school system.

The care package includes essential “daily use” items like hand sanitizer, hundreds of pencils and pencil eraser caps and dry erase markers as well as many packets of stickers, crayons, plastic bins, art supplies and tactile toys, the release states.

“We honor the courage and commitment of these teachers and will continue to send supplies every month,” said Paverd.
